Occupation: Business Management Consultant / Business Owner

The Clerk’s office in Lake County handles elections, vital records, and public filings, while recording the proceedings of the Lake County Board and providing tax and real estate services for Lake County residents.

Laura has a strong background in business operations, compliance data and records management in regulated industries. She currently owns a company called Watershed Consulting Group, which provides business management services to Fortune 500 companies.

For over a decade, Laura has been involved in various civic activities, including working for national election reform as citizen activist for organizations such as Vote Trust USA, which advocate for secure, accessible, and verifiable elections throughout the country. She is a PTA mom, a precinct committeeperson, a long time election worker and former contract elections trainer with the Lake County Clerk’s office.

Laura believes that our vote is our voice in our government and too many turn away from this opportunity because they have become disheartened with the system, bombarded with negativity or don’t feel fully informed. Increased non-partisan education, communication and outreach are the key to increasing voter confidence, registration and participation for all ages and in all communities.
